Our home is our personal sanctuary and we like to take care of it and keep it clean. But that's not enough for us... We also want it to smell nice! By taking some time to make natural air fresheners, we can enhance the atmosphere of our home or our office, making it not only inviting but also refreshingly fragrant...
Pomander
An old and very simple technique for scenting a room is the pomander. All we have to do is put cloves in oranges, either randomly or according to our own designs. We then place them on a pretty platter with some potpourri, or just in a bowl by themselves, and let the heady aroma of the cloves mix with the freshness of the citrus. If you like, you can use a knife to make a nick where the orange stalk used to be, to help the fragrance escape into the room.
Scented candles
Scented candles are one of the most popular natural ways of scenting our homes. Not only do they give us a pleasant scent, but they also add a special touch to the decoration of our rooms. We simply choose candles with the scents, colors and designs we prefer and place them in our room according to our personal style.
Spray with essential oils
In a spray bottle, add warm water and a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Shake well and spray your room or your office. So simple and easy to replace chemical air fresheners and create a beautiful and fragrant atmosphere in our place.
Vase flowers and houseplants
Fresh flowers in a vase or a few potted plants and herbs not only beautify our place but also help to freshen the air and remove allergens. If you don't have any in your garden, your local flower shop or plant nursery should have a wide variety. And on your next excursion into nature, don't miss the opportunity to pick beautiful wildflowers that will add a unique scent and color to your home.
Herbs
If we have planted herbs and spices in the garden, it is a good idea to bring their scent into the house. Simply cut a few and place them in small vases. It will make your home look pretty and smell fresh!
Orange and Cinnamon
One of the most harmonious combinations ever! If you want to fragrance the atmosphere of your home immediately, boil water in a saucepan and add orange peel and cinnamon sticks. Remove from the heat and allow the aromas to evaporate, filling your home with warmth and sweetness.
Pine cones with essential oils
A walk in the countryside can renew not only our personal "space" but also the space in which we live. To start with, all you need to do is pick a few pine cones, wash them and let them dry. In a bottle with a spray pump, put warm water, and a few drops of essential oil and spray the pine cones. You can also put a few drops of essential oil directly on the pine cones. Place them on a decorative platter or in another decorative container to give your room a beautiful, natural scent.
