I was a child when I first visited Sounion, and since then, many Sundays the car ride along the Athenian coastline brought me there, to a place where admiration for the ingenuity of my ancient ancestors, the sunlight, and the blue color of the sea are enough to free the mind from every thought and fill the soul with warmth and tranquility. As I stand once again at the Temple of Poseidon, gazing at the blue waters of the Aegean, I can tell with pride that Sounion will never cease to capture the hearts of travelers and offer a window into Greece's mystical past.
