Kyra Sarakosti (Mrs Lent) is an age - old Greek custom that marks the beginning of Lent and was used as a kind of calendar until Easter. Kyra Sarakosti is a woman made of very salty dough, wearing a cross on her head, with seven legs, folded hands and no mouth, as she fasts during this period. She loses a leg every Saturday, starting with the one after Ash Monday...

Ingredients

  • 300 g all – purpose flour
  • 120 g salt
  • 180 g/ml water
  • Cloves for decoration
  • Color paste (if you prefer to color it)

How to

Mix and knead all the ingredients, shape Mrs Lent and bake in a preheated oven (set to fan) at 320 oF - 160 oC for about 30 min just to dry the dough.

Warning: It is not edible!!!
